Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers Job Summary
Assisting MM during export operations AMM shall ensure that operation is executed in accordance with international marine rules, OCIMF recommendations, Gabonese Government rules and good seaman ship practice Ensure that all required permits were obtained, to connect and disconnect export hose Shall ensure the operation is planned and executed with good workmanship and in accordance with approved work procedures Ensure that mooring system and export hose areas are as per required standard and in good condition.
Key Responsibilties
Assisting tanker crew during tandem mooring and unmooring Assisting tanker crew while handling tugboat’s towlines Assisting tanker crew while connecting and disconnecting export hose Backup for MM on tanker bridge during loading operation Monitoring loading, weather condition, handling tugboats or other boats involved in operation, monitoring hawser tension and configuration, cargo loading rate and loading performance Maintains communication with tugboats, tanker personnel and FPSO Routine control of towing lines, export hose and mooring hawser during loading Assisting Master of export tanker while waiting for cargo documents Signing for receipt (only) letter of protest and statement of facts. (Not to sign any cargo documents and ullage reports) Responsible for export hose toolbox and accessories of tanker rail hose Be familiar with the PTW system.
Professional Qualifications
Meet requirements for certification as an officer in charge of a navigational watch on ships of 500 gross tonnage and have at least 12 months approved seagoing service in that capacity. Familiarity with Colregs and knowledge of SBM and tandems operations is necessary The ideal candidate should have good knowledge of Bridge management and ECDIS.
Chief Mate Certificate, STCW95 – Reg. II/2 and flag state endorsement of recognition For other certificates and training, see Company Training Matrix, Unit Specific Training Matrix and CBT Matrix Have completed approved education and training and meet the standard of competence specified in section A-II/2 of the STCW code for master and chief mates on ships of 3000 gross tonnage or more. Excellent command in English written and spoken.
