 Job Title: Brand / Motion Graphics Designer

Location: Lagos

Employment Type: Full-time Description

The Brand & Motion Graphics Designer will be responsible for bringing Motherland Africa's brand, campaigns, products, programmes, and communications to life through compelling visual design. The role combines strong expertise instatic graphic design, motion graphics, brand identity, and AI-assisted video creation, with the ability to translate marketing and business objectives into visually engaging, on-brand creative assets across digital, social, events, presentations, campaigns, and other communication touchpoints. The ideal candidate is both creatively strong and highly execution-focused across static and motion formats, with a sharp understanding of visual storytelling, brand consistency, contemporary design trends, and how to create content that captures attention and communicates clearly. Someone who can take a brief that says"we need to communicate this"and turn it into a creative that makes peoplestop, understand, feel, and engage.


Responsibilities
Brand & Visual Identity:

Develop and maintain Motherland's visual identity across products, programmes, campaigns, and communications. Translate brand strategy and messaging into compelling visual concepts and creative assets. Ensure consistency in typography, layout, imagery, colour, tone, and overall visual language across all touchpoints. Support the development of brand guidelines, templates, campaign identities, and visual systems.


Static Graphic Design:

Design high-quality creatives for social media, digital campaigns, websites, email, presentations, reports, print, events, and marketing collateral. Develop campaign concepts and creative directions that effectively communicate marketing and business objectives. Create promotional materials for festivals, products, programmes, partnerships, launches, and activations. Adapt creative assets across multiple formats, platforms, and audience requirements.


Motion Graphics & Video:

Create engaging motion graphics, animations, reels, short-form videos, promotional videos, and campaign content. Translate static concepts and brand messaging into dynamic visual experiences. Develop animated assets for social media, digital campaigns, presentations, events, and product communications. Support video editing, compositing, transitions, typography animation, and other post-production requirements.


AI Video & Creative Technology:

Use AI-powered creative tools to develop videos, animations, visual concepts, and creative assets where appropriate. Explore and apply emerging AI tools and workflows to improve creative quality, speed, and production efficiency. Develop AI-assisted visual content while maintaining strong creative direction, brand consistency, and quality control.


Marketing & Creative Collaboration:

Work closely with Marketing, Product, Events, Partnerships, PR, and other teams to understand objectives and translate them into effective visual communication. Participate in campaign ideation, creative brainstorming, and visual concept development. Manage multiple creative requests and projects while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines. Take ownership of creative projects from brief and concept through design, revisions, and final delivery.


Requirements

3+ years' experience in graphic design, visual design, motion graphics, or a related creative role. Strong portfolio demonstrating static design, motion graphics, branding, and visual storytelling. Strong understanding of brand identity, typography, composition, colour, layout, and visual communication. Proficiency with relevant design and motion tools such as Adobe Creative Suite(Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign), Figma, Canva, After Effects, Premiere Pro, or equivalent. Experience creating short-form video and social-first content. Demonstrated ability to translate complex business or marketing messages into simple, visually compelling creative concepts. Experience with AI creative and video-generation tools is highly desirable. Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain brand consistency. Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, respond to feedback, and deliver under tight timelines. Excellent collaboration & communication skills Strong creative thinking with a practical, execution-oriented approach.
