Job Title: Digital Technology Tutor
Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers
Employment Type: Contract Role Description
The Digital Technology Tutor is responsible for delivering engaging, practical instruction in core digital skills to learners at various levels. This contract role involves planning and facilitating classes in Port Harcourt, providing both in-person and online sessions in a hybrid format, and offering one-on-one support where needed. Day-to-day tasks include designing lesson plans and learning materials, demonstrating software tools and digital platforms, assessing learner progress, and providing constructive feedback. The tutor will also help learners apply digital skills to real-world problems, coordinate with program staff to refine the curriculum, and maintain accurate records of attendance and performance. Some work from home is acceptable, particularly for virtual classes, preparation, and reporting.
Strong digital literacy skills, including confident use of computers, common software applications, and internet tools. Experience teaching, tutoring, or facilitating training sessions, preferably in technology-related subjects. Ability to design clear lesson plans, create simple learning materials, and adapt content for different skill levels. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse groups of learners. Comfort with hybrid delivery methods, including in-person classes in Port Harcourt and online instruction from home. Organizational skills for managing schedules, tracking learner progress, and reporting outcomes to program coordinators. Demonstrated passion for community development, youth empowerment, or entrepreneurship in the Niger Delta or similar contexts. Relevant certification or diploma in education, information technology, or a related field is beneficial; prior experience in community training programs is an advantage.
