Job Title: Elementary / Early Childhood Educator / Teacher Assistant

Location: Owerri, Imo

Employment Type: Full-time Job Description

Responsible for providing engaging instruction, managing the classroom, assessing pupils’ progress, and supporting their academic, social, and personal development.


Responsibilities

Prepare lesson plans and teaching materials. Teach subjects according to the primary school curriculum. Develop pupils’ literacy, numeracy, and critical thinking skills. Assess pupils through classwork, assignments, tests, and examinations. Maintain classroom discipline and a positive learning environment. Provide support for pupils with different learning needs. Maintain accurate records of pupils’ performance and attendance. Communicate pupils’ progress with parents and school management. Participate in school activities and professional development programmes.


Requirements
Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Education, NCE, or relevant teaching qualification. PGDE is an advantage for non-education graduates. TRCN certification preferred.


Experience:

1–2 years teaching experience at primary school level preferred. Experience teaching literacy and numeracy skills is an advantage.


Other Requirements:

Passion for working with young learners. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Commitment to pupils’ academic and personal growth. Ability to create a safe, supportive, and engaging classroom environment.
