Job Title: Facility Officer
Locations: Akwa Ibom, Kaduna, and Ogun
Employment Type: Full-time Job Summary
The Facility Officer will be responsible for the effective day-to-day management, maintenance, safety, and operational readiness of the Study Centre. The role will ensure that the facility provides a safe, functional, welcoming, and conducive environment for students, employees, visitors, and other stakeholders. The Facility Officer will also coordinate renovation and fit-out activities where required, manage contractors and service providers, oversee utilities and maintenance, ensure compliance with health and safety requirements, and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and optimize facility-related costs.
Oversee renovation, furnishing, fit-out, and setup activities, ensuring completion in line with approved requirements, timelines, budgets, and quality standards. Manage the day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of the Study Centre, including electrical, plumbing, air-conditioning, furniture, fixtures, and other facility infrastructure. Coordinate and supervise contractors, vendors, technicians, and other service providers, ensuring timely and satisfactory delivery of services. Conduct routine facility inspections, identify maintenance requirements, and ensure repairs and faults are promptly addressed to minimise operational disruptions. Ensure the Study Centre is clean, functional, and appropriately prepared for daily operations, academic activities, meetings, examinations, and events. Implement and enforce health, safety, security, and environmental procedures, including regular safety inspections, risk assessments, and emergency response plans. Monitor electricity, water, fuel, and other utilities and implement initiatives to reduce consumption and facility-related costs without compromising service quality. Optimise the use and layout of classrooms, offices, common areas, and other spaces to support current and future operational requirements. Maintain accurate records of facility assets, maintenance activities, vendor services, utility consumption, and related expenditure. Identify and implement opportunities to improve facility processes, operational efficiency, service delivery, and cost-effectiveness. Liaise with relevant internal teams to ensure facility-related requirements and issues are addressed promptly. Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor or management.
Possess a Bachelor's Degree or HND in Facility Management, Estate Management, Building Technology, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field with 3 – 5 years' relevant experience in facility management, building operations, property management, or a related role. Experience managing contractors, vendors, maintenance activities, and facility improvement projects. Working knowledge of health and safety requirements, building maintenance, utilities management, and basic facility systems. Strong organisational, problem-solving, vendor management, and cost-management skills. Good communication, interpersonal, reporting, and record-keeping skills. Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and respond promptly to operational issues. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and / or Google Workspace.
