Job Title: Graduate  Civil Engineer

Location: Mushin, Lagos

Employment Type: Full-time (Internship) Job Summary

The Graduate Civil Engineer will support the planning, design, supervision, and execution of  construction projects while gaining practical experience in building construction and project delivery. The role provides an opportunity to work closely with experienced engineers to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved standards.

Assist in supervising daily on-site construction activities to ensure work aligns with approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards. Support the monitoring and execution of structural and civil works. Assist in coordinating contractors, subcontractors, site staff, and consultants to ensure smooth project execution. Interpret architectural and structural drawings for accurate site implementation. Assist in monitoring construction methods and ensuring compliance with engineering standards. Support the enforcement of quality control, safety procedures, and environmental guidelines on site. Monitor material usage and liaise with the procurement/logistics team to ensure timely material availability. Report site issues promptly and assist in identifying practical solutions to minimize project delays. Maintain accurate site records, including daily reports, material logs, and attendance records. Assist with project planning, scheduling, progress monitoring, and risk assessments. Participate in site meetings and prepare technical reports and project updates for management.

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline. 0 – 3 years of relevant experience, including internships, NYSC, or graduate trainee experience in construction or real estate. Basic knowledge of structural and architectural drawings. Familiarity with construction methods and engineering principles. Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office. Knowledge of Microsoft Project or other engineering software is an added advantage. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a willingness to learn. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively in a team and adapt to a fast-paced project environment. Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality standards.
