Job Title: HSE Officer
Location: Ikorodu, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time Key Responsibilities
Monitor compliance with HSE policies, procedures, and safe work practices. Participate in toolbox meetings, safety briefings, and HSE awareness programmes. Conduct and participate in Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Risk Assessments, and Permit-to-Work activities. Report and investigate accidents, near misses, unsafe acts, and unsafe conditions. Monitor the proper handling and disposal of waste, chemicals, and other hazardous materials. Ensure emergency equipment, fire extinguishers, first-aid boxes, and emergency exits are properly maintained and accessible. Support the implementation of HSE initiatives and continuous improvement activities.
Bachelor's Degree/HND in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related discipline. Relevant HSE certifications such as NEBOSH, ISPON, OSHA, HSE Level 1–3, or equivalent. ISO certification will be an added advantage. Minimum of 3–5 years of relevant HSE experience, preferably within a manufacturing, fabrication, construction, oil & gas, or galvanizing environment. Strong knowledge of HSE regulations, risk assessment, incident investigation, and safe work practices. Good communication, reporting, and interpersonal skills.
