 Job Title: Information and Communication Technology Tutor

Location: Abeokuta, Ogun

Employment Type: Full-time Job Purpose

To provide effective and engaging Information and Communication Technology (ICT) instruction that equips students with essential digital skills, computer literacy, problem-solving abilities, and practical knowledge required for academic success and everyday technological applications.

Plan and deliver engaging ICT lessons in line with the school curriculum and students’ learning needs. Teach fundamental and advanced computer concepts, including hardware, software, operating systems, and computer applications. Provide practical training in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Introduce students to basic programming, coding, databases, internet use, and other relevant ICT concepts where applicable. Develop students’ digital literacy, critical thinking, problem-solving, and technology skills. Prepare lesson plans, instructional materials, practical exercises, assignments, tests, and examinations. Conduct practical sessions and ensure students have adequate hands-on experience with computers and relevant software. Assess students’ progress regularly and provide constructive feedback to improve their performance. Identify students’ learning difficulties and provide appropriate support and additional guidance. Prepare students adequately for internal and external examinations involving ICT/Computer Studies. Promote responsible, safe, ethical, and appropriate use of computers, the internet, and other digital technologies. Maintain accurate records of students’ attendance, assessments, performance, and academic progress. Ensure proper use, handling, and care of computers, ICT equipment, and other instructional resources. Keep abreast of current developments and trends in technology and incorporate relevant knowledge into teaching. Participate in departmental meetings, school activities, training programmes, and other duties assigned by the school management. Maintain a positive, disciplined, and conducive learning environment that encourages students to develop confidence in using technology.

Required Qualifications and Skills

A Bachelor’s Degree/HND in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Education, or a related field. Relevant teaching or tutoring experience is an added advantage. Strong knowledge of computer applications and digital technologies. Good communication, interpersonal, and classroom-management skills. Ability to simplify technical concepts and teach students with varying levels of ICT proficiency. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant educational/ICT software. Ability to conduct practical and activity-based ICT lessons. Passion for teaching, technology, and students’ development.
