Job Description

• A Laundry Attendant is responsible for the professional cleaning, pressing, and maintenance of all hotel linens, uniforms, and occasionally, guest garments.
• This role is crucial for maintaining the hotel’s presentation standards and ensuring a constant supply of clean inventory.

Key Responsibilities
Processing & Cleaning:

• Sort all items (guest laundry, uniforms, towels, sheets, etc.) according to fabric type, color, and required cleaning method (washing, dry cleaning, or spot treatment).
• Operate commercial washing machines, dryers, and ironers/pressers safely and efficiently, adhering to all manufacturer instructions.
• Load, weigh, and mix appropriate cleaning chemicals and detergents according to concentration and safety guidelines.

Quality Control & Finishing:

• Inspect linens for stains, tears, or damage before and after washing; report or treat damaged items as necessary.
• Perform meticulous ironing and folding of all items (sheets, towels, uniforms, napkins) to meet the hotel's presentation standards.
• Maintain accurate inventory of finished linens and assist with distribution to the relevant departments (Housekeeping, Food & Beverage).

Equipment & Area Maintenance:

• Clean and maintain all laundry equipment (washers, dryers, filters, irons) to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
• Keep the laundry room clean, organized, well-ventilated, and free of safety hazards at all times.
• Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to the Maintenance Officer immediately.

Guest Laundry Service (where applicable):

• Log and tag all guest garments accurately upon receipt.
• Ensure guest laundry is cleaned and returned promptly, following special instructions (e.g., starch, folding preferences).
• Complete billing documentation for all guest laundry services.

Requirements

• Interested candidates should possess an OND / SSCE / GCE / NECO qualifications with 0 - 1 year work experience.
