Grade Band: Grade 3 About the Role
We are seeking a skilled, hands-on Maintenance & Equipment Technician to ensure peak operational availability and safety across our technical training machinery and facilities. In this vital role, you will execute preventive maintenance, conduct mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, service HVAC systems, perform instrument calibrations, and manage workshop tools to guarantee zero downtime during practical training sessions.
Preventive & Corrective Maintenance: Execute routine maintenance schedules across mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation assets while diagnosing and repairing power systems, machinery faults, and simulator breakdowns. Equipment Calibration & Inspection: Calibrate measuring tools, testing simulators, and laboratory apparatus according to specifications, inspecting all workshop equipment prior to practical training classes. HVAC & Electrical Servicing: Troubleshoot electrical systems, perform instrumentation checks, and carry out HVAC repairs across DATI facility centres. Tool Control & Inventory Management: Maintain an accurate register of workshop tools, instruments, and spare parts while requisitioning replacement components prior to stock depletion. Safety & Assistant Supervision: Enforce workshop tool safety protocols and supervise maintenance apprentices and assistants.
Qualifications & Key Requirements
Education: Minimum of an OND or Trade Test (I, II, III) / Apprenticeship Certification in Mechanical, Electrical, or Instrumentation Engineering. Experience: 3+ years of practical experience in industrial equipment maintenance, electrical diagnostics, instrument calibration, and machinery repair. Core Skills: Technical equipment troubleshooting, mechanical/electrical diagnostics, instrument calibration, HVAC repairs, and workshop tool safety management.
Proactive technical problem-solvers capable of responding to equipment breakdowns within 30 minutes. Meticulous technicians with a strong commitment to maintaining safety and calibration logs. Organised professionals skilled at managing spare parts inventory and maintaining high equipment uptime. Collaborative team players able to work effectively across training operations and technical departments.
