Job Title: Mechanic
Location: Calabar, Cross River Job Overview
The Mechanic will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing the company's trucks and heavy-duty vehicles to ensure they remain safe, reliable, and available for daily haulage operations at our Calabar location.
Carry out routine inspection, servicing, maintenance, and repairs on company trucks and heavy-duty vehicles. Diagnose mechanical faults and determine the appropriate repair requirements. Inspect engines, transmissions, braking systems, suspension, steering, cooling systems, and other mechanical components. Carry out preventive maintenance according to the company's maintenance schedule. Repair or replace defective mechanical components. Conduct oil changes, lubrication, filter replacement, brake servicing, and other routine maintenance. Inspect vehicles before and after major trips where required.
3–5 years' proven experience working as a Mechanic. At least 2–3 years' hands-on experience maintaining and repairing trucks or heavy-duty commercial vehicles is preferred. Experience working on diesel engines, transmissions, braking systems, suspension, steering, cooling systems, and other truck mechanical components. Proven experience carrying out preventive and corrective maintenance on trucks. Experience diagnosing mechanical faults and carrying out repairs with minimal supervision.
