Job Title: Mechanical Fitter
Location: Rivers
Employment Type: Contract
Responsibilities
Perform installation, maintenance, overhaul, and repair of mechanical equipment, including pumps, valves, compressors, gearboxes, and piping systems.
Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance activities as scheduled or instructed by the Maintenance Foreman.
Assist in troubleshooting mechanical faults and equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime.
Dismantle, inspect, repair, and reassemble mechanical components in accordance with OEM manuals and procedures.
Conduct alignment, fitting, and replacement of bearings, seals, gaskets, and other mechanical components.
Ensure proper use and care of tools, equipment, and lifting devices.
Comply strictly with HSE requirements, including permit-to-work systems, toolbox talks, and job safety analyses (JSAs).
Maintain good housekeeping in work areas at all times.
Requirements5 - 7 years of proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter in the Oil & Gas industry.
Demonstrated expertise in the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment such as pumps, valves, compressors, and gearboxes.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and OEM manuals.
Strong understanding of mechanical principles and best practices in fitting and assembly.
Experience with various diagnostic tools and techniques for fault finding.
Ability to perform precision fitting and alignment of components.
Knowledge of HSE regulations and safe work practices in an industrial environment.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical fitness and ability to work in challenging environments.
