Job Title: Mudlogging Engineer
Locations: Delta and Rivers
About the Role
The successful candidates will be responsible for monitoring drilling parameters, analyzing drill cuttings and gas readings, and providing real-time geological and drilling data to support safe and efficient well operations.
Key ResponsibilitiesMonitor and record drilling parameters (ROP, WOB, RPM, mud flow, pressure, etc.) using mudlogging unit equipment
Collect, wash, describe, and analyze drill cuttings and formation samples
Detect and interpret hydrocarbon shows (gas readings, fluorescence, cut, etc.)
Maintain accurate lithology logs and generate daily geological/drilling reports
Monitor for early kick/well-control indicators and alert the drilling team promptly
Calibrate and maintain mudlogging equipment and sensors
Liaise with the drilling crew, mud engineers, and company representatives on-site
Ensure compliance with HSE standards at all times
RequirementsBachelor's Degree in Geology, Petroleum Engineering, or related field
Minimum of 3 years experience in mudlogging operations (onshore/offshore)
Strong knowledge of well control principles and formation evaluation
Proficiency with mudlogging software (e.g., WellSite Info, WITSML systems)
Ability to work rotational shifts and in remote/offshore environments
Valid safety certifications (e.g., BOSIET, H2S, First Aid) an advantage
Strong analytical, communication, and reporting skills.
