Job Title: Nursery Teacher
Location: Ikeja, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver age-appropriate lessons and activities that support children’s cognitive, social, emotional and physical development. Create a safe, welcoming and stimulating classroom environment that encourages learning, creativity and positive behaviour. Teach foundational skills such as letters, numbers, colours, shapes, phonics, basic literacy and numeracy through engaging activities. Use play-based learning, storytelling, songs, art, games and practical activities to make learning enjoyable and effective. Monitor and assess each child’s development, learning progress and individual needs. Maintain accurate records of children’s attendance, development, behaviour and academic progress. Provide appropriate support and encouragement to children who may require additional assistance with learning or social development. Promote good manners, personal hygiene, independence, sharing, teamwork and respect for others. Supervise children at all times and ensure their safety during classroom activities, break periods, meals and outdoor play. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding children’s progress, behaviour and general wellbeing. Work collaboratively with other teachers and school staff to support the overall development and wellbeing of the children. Prepare classroom materials, teaching aids, displays and learning resources. Participate in school events, meetings, training sessions and extracurricular activities. Follow school policies, procedures and safeguarding requirements. Maintain a clean, organised and child-friendly classroom. Identify and report any concerns relating to a child’s health, safety, behaviour or development to the appropriate school authority. Continuously develop teaching skills and stay informed about effective early-years teaching practices.
Interested candidates should possess a Bachelor`s Degree with 1 - 3 years experience.
