Job Title: NYSC Corps Member (Engineering)

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic NYSC Corps Member with an Engineering background to join our team. The successful candidate will support the Projects and Engineering Department in monitoring construction activities, conducting site inspections, preparing reports, coordinating project documentation, and assisting with other engineering-related activities across the Company's real estate projects. This role provides an opportunity to gain practical experience in the real estate and construction industry while working closely with experienced professionals.
Assist the Engineering/Projects team in monitoring ongoing construction and development projects. Participate in site inspections and report observations to the appropriate supervisor. Assist in tracking project progress against approved plans and timelines. Support the preparation of engineering reports, site reports, and project documentation. Assist with measurements, quantity verification, and other basic technical activities as assigned. Monitor the use and movement of materials at project sites where required. Assist in identifying and escalating site issues, delays, defects, or safety concerns. Support the review and organisation of drawings, technical documents, and project records. Liaise with contractors, artisans, suppliers, and other relevant stakeholders under supervision. Ensure proper documentation and filing of engineering and project-related records. Attend departmental and project meetings and prepare updates where required. Support the team in ensuring compliance with approved project specifications and quality standards. Carry out any other engineering-related duties assigned by the Head of Department or Management.
A Bachelor's Degree or HND in Civil Engineering, Building Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related Engineering discipline. Must be a serving NYSC Corps Member seeking a Place of Primary Assignment (PPA). Relevant academic knowledge of construction, building processes, or engineering principles. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word. Knowledge of AutoCAD or other relevant engineering software is an added advantage.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Good attention to detail. Ability to read and understand basic technical drawings. Good report writing and documentation skills. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Willingness to learn and take initiative. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Good organisational and time-management skills. Ability to work in an office and visit project sites as required.
