Job Title: Oiler

We are seeking a competent and safety-conscious Oiler to join our Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the maintenance, repair, and operation of engine room equipment, ensuring safety, environmental compliance, and operational efficiency.
Maintaining engine room watches as assigned. Assisting with engine room cleaning, repairs, and routine maintenance activities. Performing preventive and corrective maintenance in accordance with approved procedures. Supporting machinery operation and ensuring equipment is maintained in good working condition. Following Permit to Work (PTW) procedures for all applicable tasks. Complying with machinery isolation and lock-out/tag-out procedures. Identifying and reporting unsafe conditions, equipment defects, and environmental hazards. Assisting in pollution prevention activities and responding appropriately to spills or leaks. Participating actively in emergency response drills and carrying out assigned emergency duties. Ensuring all work is performed safely and in compliance with company HSE policies.
Experience working as an Oiler, Motorman, Engine Rating, or similar marine engineering position. Valid STCW Engine Room Watch Rating Certificate (Regulation III/4) or equivalent certification. Good knowledge of marine engine room operations and maintenance. Understanding of Permit to Work (PTW), Risk Assessment, and machinery isolation procedures. Familiarity with hydraulic systems, pumps, diesel engines, and auxiliary machinery. Experience with safety and environmental management systems is an added advantage.
Strong commitment to health, safety, and environmental compliance. Good communication and teamwork skills. Ability to work effectively under supervision and in a multicultural environment. High level of discipline, reliability, and attention to detail. Ability to identify hazards and respond appropriately during emergencies. Basic computer literacy and familiarity with maintenance reporting systems.
