Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate, skilled, and patient-focused Optometrist to join our growing clinical team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive eye care services, conducting eye examinations, diagnosing and managing common ocular conditions, and educating patients on proper eye health and preventive care.
Key ResponsibilitiesConduct comprehensive eye examinations and vision assessments for patients.
Diagnose and manage common refractive and ocular conditions within the scope of practice.
Perform visual acuity tests, refraction, tonometry, and other relevant optometric examinations.
Prescribe and dispense appropriate corrective lenses and other optical solutions.
Identify signs of ocular diseases and refer patients to ophthalmologists or other specialists when necessary.
Provide pre- and post-treatment eye care and appropriate patient follow-up.
Educate patients on eye health, preventive care, contact lens use, and proper vision care.
Participate in community eye-screening programs, corporate outreaches, and health awareness campaigns.
Maintain accurate and confidential patient records.
Work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and patient-centered care.
Stay updated on current developments, technologies, and best practices in optometry.
Maintain high standards of clinical ethics, professionalism, and patient safety.
RequirementsBachelor's Degree in Optometry (OD) from a recognized institution with 1 – 3 years post-qualification experience.
Must be fully registered with the Optometrists and Dispensing Opticians Registration Board of Nigeria (ODOBRN).
Valid practicing license.
Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Compassionate and patient-centered approach to healthcare delivery.
Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Proficiency in electronic medical records and basic computer applications is an advantage.
