Job Summary
We areseeking a motivated and compassionate Optometry Intern to join our clinical team.
This role offers hands-on experience supporting eye-care services while working under the supervision of qualified optometrists.
Key responsibilitiesAssist with patient intake, appointment preparation, and preliminary eye assessments.
Support optometrists during eye examinations, including visual acuity tests, refraction support, and diagnostic procedures.
Prepare, clean, and maintain examination rooms, equipment, and optical instruments.
Record patient information accurately and maintain confidentiality at all times.
Provide courteous guidance to patients on appointment processes, eyewear options, and follow-up care.
Assist with dispensing, fitting, adjustment, and basic care instructions for spectacles and contact lenses.
Help manage stock of frames, lenses, contact lenses, and clinical supplies.
Follow all clinic policies, health and safety standards, and professional ethical guidelines.
Participate in training, supervision sessions, and other learning opportunities.
RequirementsCurrently graduated from an accredited Optometry programme.
Strong interest in eye health, patient care, and clinical learning.
Good communication, interpersonal, and customer-service skills.
High attention to detail, professionalism, and respect for patient confidentiality.
Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Basic computer and record-keeping skills.
