Job Title: Piping Engineer
Location: Abuja (FCT)
Job Summary
Reporting to the AKK Deputy Project Manager, the Piping Engineer will be the Subject Matter Expert/Technical Authority on all aspects of the piping engineering and fabrication/installation activities and processes.
He will also be the accountable and responsible person for all site activities bordering on material and metallurgical engineering, installation, and constructability.
He shall render fabrication support to the fabrication team while at the same time collaborating with the design team on piping-related issues and activities.
The suitable candidate is expected to have a balance of both field/site and design experience.
Job Details
Reporting to the AKK Project Management, the Piping Engineer will be responsible for managing all Piping Engineering, fabrication, and installation activities.
Maintain regular and continuous interface and working collaboration with Frazimex and the fabrication team on all piping issues/concerns/inputs towards the smooth completion of the piping fabrication & installation scope of the AKK project.
Reads and interprets piping layout, isometric drawings, legal description, government standards and codes, and specifications applicable to piping, piping fabrication /Installation.
Performs calculations, utilizing knowledge of algebra, geometry, and trigonometry as required.
Participate in regular project technical meetings with (1) Fabrication/Installation team and (2) client/client rep. on project technical issues.
RequirementsA minimum of B.ENG/TECH in Mechanical or Production Engineering. M.Sc. in Engineering will be an added advantage.
Minimum of 10+ years of working experience in piping fabrication/installation, design engineering, and procurement support.
