Madonna Model School is a private Catholic nursery, primary and secondary school located in Area 3, Garki, Abuja, Nigeria. The school is part of the educational institutions under the Catholic Archdiocese of Abuja and has been listed among the Archdiocese's basic and secondary schools.

We are seeking a caring, competent and dedicated Primary School Teacher to join its academic team.

​​​​​​​The successful candidate will be responsible for providing effective teaching and learning experiences for pupils while supporting their academic, social, emotional and personal development.

Plan and deliver engaging lessons in accordance with the approved primary school curriculum. Prepare lesson plans, lesson notes, instructional materials, assignments and assessments. Teach assigned subjects effectively and use age-appropriate teaching methods. Create a safe, supportive and stimulating classroom environment. Assess pupils regularly and maintain accurate records of their academic performance. Monitor pupils' learning progress and provide additional support where necessary. Encourage pupils to develop good study habits, creativity, critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Maintain effective classroom management and discipline. Support pupils' social, emotional and personal development. Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding pupils' academic progress and welfare. Participate in school assemblies, extracurricular activities, excursions, competitions and other school programmes. Work collaboratively with other teachers and school management. Maintain classroom resources and ensure teaching materials are properly organised. Perform other duties as may be assigned by the school management.

Minimum of NCE, B.Ed., B.Sc. (Ed.) or equivalent qualification in Education or a relevant subject area. A Bachelor's Degree in Education or a related discipline will be an added advantage. TRCN certification or evidence of registration is an added advantage. Additional professional teaching qualifications will be an advantage.

Minimum of 2 years' teaching experience in a reputable primary school. Experience teaching pupils across different primary school levels will be an advantage. Experience using modern and child-centred teaching methods is preferred. Candidates with experience preparing pupils for common entrance examinations will be an added advantage.

Excellent teaching and classroom management skills. Ability to work effectively with young children. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Patience, creativity and enthusiasm for teaching. Ability to make lessons engaging and age-appropriate. Good organisational and time-management skills. Ability to identify and respond to individual learning needs. Basic computer literacy and ability to use educational technology. Strong teamwork and collaboration skills. Good written and spoken English.

Must demonstrate professionalism, integrity, patience and commitment to teaching. Must have a genuine passion for working with children. Must be punctual, reliable and responsible. Must possess good communication and interpersonal skills. Must be able to maintain a positive and well-organised classroom environment. Must be willing to participate in school activities and programmes. Must be willing to work in Garki Area 3, Abuja.
