We are looking for a meticulous and commercially aware Procurement Officer to support efficient sourcing, purchasing, vendor management, and supply coordination across our projects and operations. This role is ideal for someone who takes procurement processes, documentation, cost control, and supplier performance seriously, is comfortable working in a fast-paced project environment, and wants to build a career in procurement and supply chain management within the telecommunications infrastructure industry.
Receive and process procurement requests, ensuring vendor/resource availability and cost inputs are confirmed within agreed timelines. Source, evaluate, and recommend qualified suppliers and third-party vendors in line with company procurement requirements. Support the registration, verification, and onboarding of vendors on the ERP system before engagement. Maintain an up-to-date vendor database, including pricing, service capabilities, documentation, and performance records. Support vendor tiering and continuously identify reliable suppliers to strengthen the company’s procurement network. Assist in managing supplier and subcontractor relationships, including communication, service issues, and resolution of procurement-related disputes. Conduct periodic vendor performance reviews and escalate recurring quality, cost, delivery, or compliance issues. Prepare and issue Purchase Orders in with approved procurement procedures and authorization limits. Support price negotiations with suppliers to achieve competitive pricing, discounts, favourable payment terms, and value for money. Obtain and compare quotations from suppliers and prepare procurement recommendations for approval. Coordinate with project, finance, logistics, and operations teams to ensure timely delivery of materials, equipment, and services. Support logistics and freight procurement activities, ensuring cost-effective and timely movement of goods. Monitor supplier deliveries, order fulfilment, lead times, and outstanding purchase orders. Maintain accurate procurement records, contracts, quotations, Purchase Orders, invoices, and vendor documentation. Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, approved budgets, contractual requirements, and applicable regulations. Prepare periodic procurement reports covering spend, supplier performance, savings, outstanding orders, and procurement activities. Analyse procurement and supply data to identify cost-saving opportunities, supplier risks, and process improvement areas. Support procurement audits and provide documentation required for internal and external reviews. Perform other procurement and supply-chain
B.Sc. Degree / HND in a numerate discipline discipline. 1–3 years of relevant experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain, or a related function. Professional procurement or supply chain certification is an advantage. Experience working with ERP/procurement systems and Microsoft Office Suite. Strong negotiation, communication, planning, organisation, and analytical skills. Good understanding of supplier sourcing, quotation evaluation, Purchase Orders, vendor management, and procurement processes. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple procurement requests simultaneously. High level of integrity, accountability, confidentiality, and commercial awareness. Ability to work effectively with project, finance, operations, logistics, and other internal stakeholders. Experience in the telecommunications, engineering, technology, or project-based environment is an added advantage but not Mandatory.
