The Africa Impact Investing Group is an active and vibrant community of actors working on the ground with policy makers, investors, entrepreneurs, and civil society to drive capital to where it can have the most impact, while delivering financing returns. It brings together African National Partners for GSG Impact and task forces to build a stronger ecosystem for Impact Investing across the continent. We are  recruiting to fill the position below:

 Job Title: Programme Manager

Location: Nigeria (Remote)

Employment Type: Full-time Description

The Programme Manager is a senior operational role within the AIIG Secretariat, responsible for implementing AIIG’s programming priorities across Africa. The position ensures the timely execution of strategic initiatives, coordinates country-level and regional activities, manages external partnerships, and supports the CEO in achieving AIIG’s mission: to mobilise capital for impact, strengthen national ecosystems, and amplify Africa’s voice in global impact investing.

Key Result Areas (KRAs) and Responsibilities


Programme Execution and Coordination:

Develop and manage annual and quarterly programme implementation plans aligned with AIIG’s 5-year strategy. Lead project roll-outs across countries, ensuring consistency, quality, and timely delivery of outcomes. Coordinate the Africa Impact Summit (AIS) and at least one additional regional event annually, with measurable outputs and post-event documentation. Support country partners in earned income projects, policy initiatives, and research dissemination.


KPI Targets:

≥90% of annual workplan deliverables achieved on schedule and within budget ≥80% satisfaction rate from national partners and event participants


Stakeholder Engagement and Country Support:

Serve as the Secretariat’s liaison with national partners (NIEBs), ensuring alignment of activities and shared learning. Manage communication with strategic partners (e.g., GSG Impact, funders, UNDP) regarding ongoing programming initiatives. Facilitate regional knowledge-sharing, webinars, and collaborative platforms.


KPI Targets:

At least 4 bilateral check-ins per NIEB annually 2 stakeholder learning events convened per year


Fundraising Support and Resource Mobilisation:

Assist the CEO with proposal development, donor reporting, and pipeline development. Track funding opportunities, support national partners with proposal reviews, and contribute to concept notes. Liaise with grant partners on technical documentation and delivery requirements.


KPI Targets:

Contribute to a minimum of 2 funding proposals or donor submissions per year Support at least 3 country-level fundraising interventions

Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL):

Develop and maintain a simple, agile MEL system with outputs and outcomes tracking. Ensure consistent data collection, analysis, and dashboard updates from partners. Produce periodic results reports to support internal learning and donor reporting.


KPI Targets:

Quarterly reporting cycle maintained across all AIIG activities Baseline data and ToC-aligned indicators established within 3 months of start


Operations and Compliance:

Work with the host NIEB to align on procurement, compliance, and administrative processes. Prepare draft budgets for programme activities and monitor expense alignment. Maintain records, SOPs, and internal knowledge management systems.


KPI Targets:

100% donor and board reports submitted accurately and on time No audit or compliance red flags during internal reviews


Brand and Communication Oversight:

Provide oversight to the Programme Assistant who provides support in brands and communication Serve as the primary custodian of AIIG’s brand standards across all Secretariat outputs, ensuring every publication, presentation, and external communication conforms to the AIIG/AIS Brand Guidelines 2026.


KPI Targets:

100% of external communication materials reviewed before publication.


Research and Report Writing:

Lead the production of AIIG’s annual and thematic research outputs — including regional-wide market-sizing reports, policy briefs, market intelligence notes, and summit briefing documents — ensuring all content is evidence-based, accurately sourced, and written to institutional standard. Coordinate research inputs from national partners, commissioned consultants, and external data sources, synthesising findings into accessible, authoritative outputs aligned with AIIG’s strategic priorities and the Africa Impact Summit programme. Monitor and curate the African impact investing evidence base — tracking new publications, data releases, and sector developments from leading institutions — and brief the CEO on findings relevant to AIIG’s strategic agenda. Support national partners in developing country-level research products, providing editorial guidance, data quality assurance, and peer review as required. Ensure all research outputs are disseminated effectively through AIIG’s communications channels and summit platforms, maximising reach among target audiences including DFIs, fund managers, policymakers, and ecosystem builders.


Key Targets:

Minimum of 2 major AIIG research publications produced and distributed per year (e.g., Africa Impact Report, landscape report, or policy brief), each meeting a zero-fabrication standard with full source attribution. All statistics and data claims in published AIIG documents traceable to named institutional sources — zero tolerance for unattributed figures. Research outputs delivered on schedule: 90% of committed research deliverables completed within agreed timelines.

Qualifications and Experience


Essential:

Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Development Studies, or related fields (or Bachelor’s degree with significant experience). Minimum of 7 years of experience in programme/project management in development finance, entrepreneurship support, or impact investing. Proven ability to manage multi-country programmes, donor-funded projects, and events at a continental or regional level. Strong stakeholder management and diplomatic communication skills.


Desirable:

Experience working within African national or regional ecosystem-building organisations. Knowledge of impact investing principles, blended finance, and enterprise support models. Familiarity with impact measurement and management (IMM) frameworks. Bilingual proficiency (English required; French or Portuguese preferred).


Technical Skills:

Competency with project management tools relevant to AIIG work protocols. Data management and basic M&E tools (Excel, Google Sheets, Power BI). Strong written communication and document preparation skills (proposals, reports, policy briefs). Strong research and analytical skills to support basic to moderately rigorous research activities as part of programme delivery.


Personal Attributes:

Proactive and highly organised, with an ownership mindset. Able to work across cultures and adapt in dynamic environments. Collaborative team player with strong emotional intelligence. Passionate about mobilising capital for social and environmental change in Africa.


Working Conditions:

Remote-first with periodic travel across Africa (up to 20%). Close coordination with the CEO, Secretariat, and host NIEB back-office team. Position may evolve based on AIIG’s legal transition and programmatic growth.
