The Today For Tomorrow Initiative (TFT) is a youth-led non-governmental organization in Nigeria focused on adolescent and youth empowerment, health rights, climate action, and community development. Led by Executive Director Adek Bassey, it operates programs spanning digital skill acquisition, sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), and gender advocacy. We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Project Officer
Location: Adamawa Key Roles and Responsibilities
Project Coordination & Implementation: Lead the planning, execution, and day-to-day implementation of all project activities across the five target LGAs in accordance with project work plans and donor timelines. Frontline Supervision: Supervise, mentor, and coordinate the routine activities of twenty (20) Community Referral Champions (CRCs) in their community engagement and referral efforts. Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain collaborative partnerships with MSI Nigeria, local Primary Health Centers (PHCs), One Stop Centers (OSCs), LGA officials, and community leaders to support integrated service delivery. Field Awareness & SBCC Campaigns: Direct and oversee community sensitization drives, household outreach campaigns, and the implementation of Social and Behavior Change Communication (SBCC) strategies across target LGAs. Referral Pathway Facilitation: Strengthen institutional and community referral linkages for SRHR and SGBV support services. Review & Work Planning: Organize and facilitate monthly project review meetings, quarterly planning sessions, and operational update workshops with project staff and stakeholders. Outcome harvesting, storytelling, and result reporting.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Public Health, Project Management, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or a related field. Work Experience: 3–5 years of progressive experience managing community-based health or development projects, preferably within NGOs or INGOs. Technical Knowledge: Demonstrated expertise in SRHR, SGBV programming, and SBCC campaigns. Supervisory Experience: Proven track record of supervising, mentoring, and coordinating community health workers, volunteers, or field agents. Stakeholder Engagement: Strong experience engaging with state/local government authorities, primary healthcare facilities, community leaders, and civil society organizations in Northern Nigeria. Key Skills: Excellent leadership, organizational, and report-writing skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; fluency in English and local languages spoken in Adamawa State (e.g., Hausa, Fulani).
