SAP MDM Consultant (Finance and Controlling)

We are seeking a highly skilled SAP Master Data Management (MDM) Consultant with extensive experience in Finance and Controlling (FICO) to become part of our team. The ideal applicant will possess comprehensive knowledge of SAP MDM procedures, tools, and best practices, with a focus on financial master data administration. This position involves designing, implementing, and maintaining SAP MDM solutions to ensure precise, consistent, and dependable master data across the organization. The consultant will collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business processes, enhance data quality, and boost operational efficiency.

Primary Duties:

Master Data Management Implementation:


Conceptualize, configure, and deploy SAP MDM solutions for Finance and Controlling modules.
Establish and uphold master data governance policies, standards, and procedures.
Guarantee data uniformity, accuracy, and integrity across SAP and non-SAP platforms.


Finance and Controlling Proficiency:


Collaborate closely with Finance and Controlling teams to comprehend their master data requirements.
Oversee financial master data elements such as General Ledger (GL) accounts, Cost Centers, Profit Centers, Internal Orders, and Asset Master Data.
Facilitate integration between SAP MDM and SAP FICO modules.


Data Quality and Governance:


Supervise and improve master data quality through regular audits, cleansing, and enrichment activities.
Develop and enforce data governance frameworks to ensure adherence to organizational and regulatory standards.
Address data-related issues and provide root cause analysis.


Collaboration and Stakeholder Management:


Work in conjunction with business stakeholders, IT teams, and external vendors to deliver MDM solutions.
Organize workshops and training sessions to educate users on MDM processes and tools.
Serve as a liaison between technical teams and business units to ensure alignment of MDM strategies with business objectives.


Project Management:


Engage in end-to-end MDM projects, including requirements gathering, solution design, testing, and deployment.
Oversee timelines, deliverables, and resources for MDM initiatives.
Provide regular updates to project managers and stakeholders on project progress.


Technical Expertise:


Employ SAP MDM tools and technologies, including SAP Information Steward, SAP Data Services, and SAP S/4HANA MDG (Master Data Governance).
Create and maintain data models, workflows, and validation rules.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to MDM systems.


Continuous Improvement:


Recognize opportunities for process optimization and automation within the MDM landscape.
Keep abreast of the latest SAP MDM trends, tools, and best practices.
Suggest and implement enhancements to improve system performance and user experience.


Requirements

Education:


Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Finance, or a related discipline.
SAP MDM or SAP FICO certification is highly advantageous.


Experience:


Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in SAP MDM, with an emphasis on Finance and Controlling.
Demonstrated experience in implementing and managing SAP MDM solutions in large-scale organizations.
Strong understanding of SAP FICO modules and their integration with MDM.


Technical Skills:


Proficiency in SAP MDM tools (SAP MDG, SAP Information Steward, SAP Data Services).
Knowledge of SAP S/4HANA and its implications for master data management.
Familiarity with data modeling, ETL processes, and data integration techniques.
