Senior Product Strategy Executive

Role Overview


Given the breadth of the Technology portfolio, the Director of Product Management plays a vital role in shaping Technology's direction at NewGlobe. You will collaborate with various departments within and outside of Tech to understand and prioritize competing demands, ensuring we build the right products for a sustainable future and competitive advantage. You will also research and present the product strategy regularly to the global executive leadership team.
You will report directly to the Chief Technology Officer, while working closely with other Technology Leadership team members, particularly the Vice President of Software Development and the Vice President of IT Operations. You will also oversee all Product Management department members, including Product Designers, Product Managers, and Product Operations Specialists.


Key Responsibilities


Lead the Product Management department, including managing product design, product management, and product operations functions and mentoring department team members.
Own the technology product roadmap, looking 3 months to 3 years ahead to ensure our portfolio consistently moves in the right direction.
Foster strong relationships with subject matter experts and senior leadership across NewGlobe to develop a deep understanding of our strategy, structure, and business model, and to elaborate new product offerings.
Secure ongoing buy-in and support from stakeholders, incorporating external research to validate the product direction's effectiveness
Conduct workshops with business stakeholders to outline the product roadmap and project release plan
Collaborate with other Technology leadership team members to drive innovative product thinking
Assess the external landscape, staying informed about trends and emerging technologies that we should be aware of and consider adopting into our digital product strategy.
Comprehend our diverse staff and families, and the environments in which they operate, to guide solutions that are context-appropriate and high-impact.
Advise on "build vs. buy" decisions regarding where we are best served to develop proprietary technology and where we should adopt cost-effective package solutions.
Connect with other EdTech organizations to build relationships, as well as speaking at conferences and engaging with the media to help increase awareness of NewGlobe. This role involves championing NewGlobe externally from a tech perspective.


Qualifications


Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field with outstanding academic performance
Experience working in either the B2B or B2G space, especially in contexts where many users are not the direct customer. Education or EdTech experience within the B2G or B2B space is additionally valuable.
Ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels, internal and external, facilitating stakeholder meetings, and influencing design decisions. You can easily synthesize data and insights into clear, impactful messaging.
A proven record of managing products through different stages of their lifecycle, from taking a product from 0 to 1 (creating a shared vision and translating it into a roadmap with clear success measures), to extending and refining an existing product, to sunsetting end-of-life products.
Experience overseeing a portfolio of products simultaneously, not just one or two products, especially a portfolio that includes both mobile or field-based applications, as well as back-office tools.
Comfort working in a company that operates and feels much like a startup (dynamic, unstructured, and frequently changing), but simultaneously with global reach and experiencing massive expansion.
Ability to work autonomously with full ownership of deliverables and attention to detail.
Strong analytical skills - our products must provide concrete business value and you can conduct the analysis to support your work
Experience in African or Asian markets.
