Job Title: Wheel Loader Operator
Location: Gusau, Zamfara

A Wheel Loader Operator is responsible for safe and efficient heavy equipment operation to move, load, and transfer earth, gravel, sand, asphalt, and other bulk materials. The role supports site operations in construction, mining, quarrying, or material handling while adhering to safety standards and routine equipment maintenance.
Equipment Operation: Safely operate heavy wheel loaders to scoop, lift, transport, and dump materials into haul trucks, hoppers, conveyors, or designated stockpiles. Pre & Post-Trip Inspections: Perform daily safety and operational checks on the loader (inspecting fluid levels, tire pressure, hydraulics, brakes, and bucket wear) before and after shifts. Site Preparation & Grading: Clear debris, level surfaces, and backfill trenches or excavations according to site specifications and supervisor instructions. Material Loading: Efficiently load trucks and hoppers without overloading, ensuring even material distribution for safe transport. Basic Maintenance & Cleaning: Clean equipment cabs, clear debris from tracks/wheels, lubricate moving parts, and report mechanical faults or repair needs to the maintenance team. Safety & Compliance: Adhere strictly to site safety rules, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) guidelines, OSHA/local regulations, and work zone speed limits.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Education: Minimum of Senior Secondary Certificate (SSCE/WAEC/NECO) or high school diploma equivalent. Licensing/Certification: Valid heavy equipment driver's license or certified operator training certificate Experience: 2–5 years of hands-on experience operating wheel loaders or similar heavy construction equipment.
Strong spatial awareness, hand-eye coordination, and precise machine maneuverability. Knowledge of basic heavy machinery mechanics and preventative maintenance. Ability to work long hours in varying weather conditions and high-noise environments. Clear communication skills for coordinating with spotters, truck drivers, and site managers.
