Job Title: Assistant Dispatch Manager - Logistics B2B
Location: Lagos
Purpose
To coordinate and oversee loading and dispatch activities to ensure timely and efficient operations while adhering to standard processes and procedures and optimize delivery planning to prevent customer stockouts and maintain smooth logistics operations.
The Job
Coordinate loading and dispatch activities in line with standard processes and procedures.
Monitor customer schedules and proactively plan deliveries to prevent stockouts.
Supervise and manage the despatch team to prevent zero-value transactions.
Engage registered transporters for truck allocation and optimize fleet usage.
Minimize internal and external demurrage for dedicated trucks through efficient scheduling.
Prepare and submit daily delivery loadout reports for tracking and analysis.
Notify corporate and dealer customers, as well as the sales team, about deliveries.
Ensure strict compliance with safety rules and regulations in all despatch activities.
Evaluate dispatch performance metrics and implement continuous improvement strategies.
Train and develop team members to enhance their skills and efficiency
RequirementsQualification:B.Sc. in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience:Minimum of three (3) years of experience in logistics, dispatch, or supply chain operations
Experience in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) or manufacturing sector is an added advantage.
The Person Must:Communicate effectively in a multilingual and multicultural environment.
Apply systematic thinking to solve problems and improve logistics efficiency.
Demonstrate assertiveness and confidence in managing stakeholders.
Manage programs and budgets effectively to optimize resources.
Analyze data and leverage insights to enhance dispatch performance.
