Job Summary


We are seeking a passionate and committed Civic Education Teacher to join our academic team.
The ideal candidate will inspire students to understand their roles, rights, and responsibilities as citizens, while promoting ethical values, social justice, leadership, and community participation.
The teacher will deliver engaging lessons aligned with the Nigerian curriculum and support the overall academic and personal development of students.


Key Responsibilities


Plan, prepare, and deliver well-structured Civic Education lessons in line with curriculum standards.
Create engaging learning experiences that develop students’ critical thinking, civic responsibility, and awareness of societal issues.
Assess, record, and report on students’ progress in accordance with school policies.
Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment.
Integrate teaching with real-life civic activities such as debates, social projects, and community service.
Collaborate with colleagues in curriculum development, cross-curricular projects, and school-wide initiatives.
Prepare students for internal and external examinations with appropriate teaching strategies and revision plans.
Maintain discipline and encourage positive behavior aligned with the school’s code of conduct.
Participate actively in staff meetings, training, and professional development programs.
Contribute to extracurricular activities and school events that enhance civic engagement and leadership skills among students.


Qualifications and Skills


Bachelor’s Degree in Civic Education, Political Science, Social Studies, or a related field (PGDE or Education qualification preferred).
Minimum of 2–3 years teaching experience, preferably in Civic Education or related subjects.
Sound knowledge of the Nigerian Curriculum and WAEC/NECO requirements.
Strong classroom management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to inspire, mentor, and engage students in civic participation and ethical living.
Proficiency in the use of ICT tools for teaching and assessment.
