The successful candidate will ensure timely, cost-effective, and compliant procurement and inbound logistics while coordinating importation activities, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring the availability of materials to support production and business operations.

Source and procure APIs, excipients, production raw materials, packaging materials, laboratory supplies, engineering spares, machinery, and other essential items. Coordinate end-to-end importation processes, including shipping schedules, import documentation, customs clearance, regulatory permits, insurance, and delivery logistics. Ensure all procured materials meet applicable Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), pharmacopeial, quality, and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with QA, QC, R&D, Regulatory Affairs, Production, Marketing, Finance, Planning, and Warehouse teams to ensure material suitability and availability. Monitor inventory levels, reorder points, minimum order quantities, and supplier lead times to prevent stock-outs, production interruptions, and excess inventory. Procure primary and secondary packaging materials, including bottles, caps, labels, foils, cartons, and package inserts, ensuring compliance with approved specifications, artwork, branding, and regulatory requirements. Liaise with the Material Planner and Warehouse Material Officer to identify low-stock materials and initiate timely replenishment. Ensure all required import documentation and regulatory approvals are obtained before shipment and follow up on the renewal of applicable NAFDAC permits. Work closely with the Finance team to facilitate timely payment of foreign suppliers, clearing agents, and other import logistics service providers. Raise and process purchase orders in Oracle ERP for imported and locally procured materials, ensuring compliance with established procurement procedures. Maintain and update the Goods in Transit (GIT) tracking sheet to monitor the status of imported items across the Emzor Group. Monitor procurement costs, supplier performance, budget adherence, material rejection rates, and obsolete or expired stock. Coordinate with relevant departments to ensure timely availability of materials for production schedules and new product launches.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor's degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in any discipline. Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in direct procurement, importation, logistics, or supply chain management. Experience in pharmaceutical, healthcare, or manufacturing procurement, particularly in raw materials and packaging materials, will be an advantage. Knowledge of international shipping, customs clearance, import documentation, and regulatory requirements. Practical experience using Oracle ERP or a comparable enterprise resource planning system.

Key Competencies:

Strong supplier relationship management, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills. Good understanding of shipping, import documentation, customs clearance, and logistics processes.
