Early Years Educator

Position Description


MBIS is looking to recruit an experienced Early Years Educator to work in our Early Years department.


Educational Background, Professional Experience and Skills Required


Minimum educational requirement is (B.Ed/BA/BSc/HND/PGDE) in English/Early Childhood Education from a reputable university; along with a diploma or certificate in Montessori Education
Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience and understanding of the British Curriculum obtained from working in a similar position
Interested applicants MUST showcase relevant recent early years training and experience
Ability or willingness to learn to teach phonics
Capability to teach early mathematics and literacy with a clear understanding of appropriate teaching strategies
Ability to assist young learners with handwriting skills development
MUST possess creative skills such as music, dance, drama, art and crafts
You MUST have excellent English Language proficiency (clear written, reading and spoken)
Proficiency in using basic computer skills such as MS Word and the internet to support your work and the children's learning
Effective classroom management and teaching abilities
Confidence in your capacity to engage children and extend their learning through play, facilitating their emotional, social and educational growth.
Enthusiasm, innovation, creativity and dynamism in delivering lesson plans that cater to all children's needs
Ability to create and maintain high-quality age-appropriate classroom displays
Capability to create stimulating classroom and outdoor learning environments that promote independent learning
Understanding of the importance of safeguarding in educational settings
You will be expected to consistently demonstrate high standards of personal and professional conduct
To complement your qualifications and experience, you should possess patience, a good sense of humor and great stamina to keep up with the needs and energy of young, lively children.
Must reside in Ibadan and live within commuting distance of Jericho, Ibadan
