Job Title: Elevator & Escalator Technician
Location: Gbagada, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Responsibilities
Install new elevators, escalators, and moving walkways according to manufacturer specifications.
Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on elevators and escalators.
Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, and control system faults.
Conduct routine inspections, servicing, and safety tests.
Respond promptly to emergency breakdowns and customer service calls.
Replace defective parts and ensure equipment operates efficiently.
Complete service reports, maintenance records, and technical documentation.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
Provide technical advice and recommendations to clients regarding equipment performance.
Work closely with engineers and supervisors on installation and modernization projects.
QualificationsMinimum of OND/HND/B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical discipline.
Technical certification in elevator and escalator systems will be an added advantage.
2–3 years of hands-on experience in elevator and escalator installation, maintenance, or repair.
Experience with leading elevator brands such as Orona, Otis, KONE, Schindler, Mitsubishi, Hitachi, Hyundai, TK Elevator (Thyssenkrupp), or Fuji is an advantage.
Required Skills:Strong troubleshooting and fault diagnosis skills.
Sound knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and electronic control systems.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and wiring diagrams.
Good knowledge of safety procedures and industry standards.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Willingness to travel to client sites and respond to emergency call-outs when required.
