Role Description
This is a full-time leadership role based in Lagos.
The General Manager will provide strategic and operational leadership across all business units of Smooth Promotions, including HipTV, The Headies, digital media, commercial partnerships, production, and corporate services.
The successful candidate will oversee the company’s daily operations while driving business growth, operational excellence, revenue generation, organizational culture, and long-term sustainability. Working closely with executive leadership, the General Manager will translate strategic objectives into measurable business outcomes while ensuring efficient collaboration across departments.
The role requires an experienced leader capable of balancing commercial priorities with creative excellence in a fast-paced media and entertainment environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead day-to-day operations across all business units.
Develop and implement strategic business plans.
Drive revenue growth through sponsorships, partnerships, advertising, licensing, and new business opportunities.
Oversee departmental performance, budgeting, and operational efficiency.
Build and manage high-performing cross-functional teams.
Establish policies, systems, and performance management frameworks.
Monitor financial performance and operational KPIs.
Strengthen relationships with clients, regulators, sponsors, and industry stakeholders.
Identify growth opportunities across television, digital, events, and intellectual property.
Ensure effective execution of major company projects, including The Headies.
QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Management, Media, Marketing, or related field (MBA is an advantage).
Strong commercial and financial management skills.
Experience leading multidisciplinary teams.
Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management abilities.
Strong decision-making and organizational leadership skills.
Experience within media, entertainment, broadcasting, advertising, or events is highly desirable.
