Job Summary

A reputable school in Ibadan is seeking a dedicated and experienced Head Teacher to lead its Primary School division. The ideal candidate must have a solid teaching foundation and proven leadership experience in a structured academic environment. You will be responsible for academic oversight, staff supervision, curriculum coordination, and fostering a productive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage the primary school’s daily academic and administrative operations
Supervise and support teachers to deliver high-quality education
Monitor and evaluate teaching standards, student progress, and learning outcomes
Develop and implement academic programs and policies
Coordinate staff training, appraisals, and capacity-building initiatives
Promote discipline, school values, and effective parent engagement
Ensure compliance with regulatory and curriculum standards (e.g., Nigerian & British curricula)
Collaborate with school management to achieve long-term educational goals

Requirements

Minimum 5 years’ experience as a primary school teacher in a reputable school
Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Head Teacher or in a school leadership role
Strong familiarity with Nigerian and British curricula (preferred)
Bachelor’s degree in Education (B.Ed) or related field; Master’s degree is an advantage
Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills
Demonstrated ability to mentor and motivate staff effectively
