Starich Recycling Technology Company Limited specializes in manufacturing orthopaedic mattresses, fiber pillows, raw fiber products, and packing belts and sacks. The company emphasizes sustainability through recycling and serves local and international markets with eco-friendly, high-quality goods. We are  recruiting to fill the position below:

 Job Title: Material Purchaser

Location: Asaba, Warri - Delta and  Benin - Edo

Employment Type: Full-time Job Description

We are seeking a smart, energetic, and result-oriented Material Purchaser to source, negotiate, and purchase raw materials, particularly PET bottles and used sacks, for the company's recycling operations. The ideal candidate must possess strong negotiation skills, market awareness, and the ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers while ensuring a consistent supply of quality materials.


Responsibilities

Source and purchase PET bottles, used sacks, and other recyclable raw materials. Identify and develop new suppliers, collectors, and collection centers. Negotiate competitive prices while maintaining quality standards. Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors. Conduct regular market surveys to monitor raw material availability and pricing. Ensure timely procurement and delivery of materials to meet production demands. Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly purchasing reports. Verify the quality and quantity of purchased materials before acceptance. Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation. Represent the company professionally during field operations and supplier engagements.

Educational Qualification

Bachelor's Degree / HND or equivalent qualification. Additional qualifications in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related fields will be an added advantage.


Experience:

Minimum of 2–4 years experience in procurement, purchasing, field sourcing, sales, or related roles. Experience in recycling, waste management, manufacturing, or raw material sourcing will be an added advantage.


Other Requirements:

Must be honest, hardworking, and self-motivated. Must possess good negotiation and relationship management skills. Ability to travel frequently within assigned locations. Must be punctual, disciplined, and result-oriented. Good knowledge of local markets and recyclable material sourcing is an added advantage. Ability to communicate effectively in English; additional local languages will be an advantage.


Skills:

Strong negotiation and persuasion skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Good analytical and problem-solving ability. Ability to identify quality recyclable materials. Ability to work independently and meet procurement targets. Good record-keeping and reporting skills. Basic computer knowledge is an added advantage. Ability to multitask and manage time effectively.


Salary
