Mathematics and Further Mathematics Teachers

Position Overview:


We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Mathematics and Further Mathematics Instructor to join our secondary school faculty. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality mathematics instruction, fostering an engaging learning environment, and supporting students in reaching their full academic potential in both mathematics and further mathematics.


Primary Responsibilities:

Curriculum Development and Implementation:


Create and execute comprehensive lesson plans that align with curriculum standards for mathematics and further mathematics
Employ diverse teaching methods to accommodate various learning styles and abilities
Incorporate technology and innovative teaching approaches to enhance the learning experience


Student Evaluation and Feedback:


Develop and administer assessments to gauge student comprehension and progress
Offer timely and constructive feedback to students on their work and performance
Monitor and document student achievements and areas for improvement


Classroom Management:


Establish a supportive and inclusive classroom atmosphere conducive to learning
Set and uphold clear expectations for behavior and classroom conduct
Address disciplinary issues promptly and fairly in accordance with school policies


Student Support and Engagement:


Recognize and support students with diverse learning needs, including those requiring additional assistance or those who are gifted and talented
Motivate and inspire students to actively participate in their learning
Cultivate a growth mindset and enthusiasm for mathematics among students


Professional Development:


Keep abreast of the latest advancements in mathematics education and pedagogical practices
Engage in professional development opportunities, workshops, and conferences
Collaborate with colleagues to exchange best practices and resources


Parent and Community Involvement:


Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress, achievements, and concerns
Take part in parent-teacher conferences, school events, and community activities
Cultivate positive relationships within the school community to support student success


Administrative Duties:


Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and other required documentation
Support the preparation and administration of standardized tests and school examinations
Contribute to school reports and evaluations


Qualifications and Skills:

Education:


Bachelor's degree in mathematics, Education, or a related field (required)
Teaching certification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent) (required)


Experience:


Proven track record teaching Mathematics and Further Mathematics at the secondary school level (preferred)
Demonstrated success in improving student performance and engagement in mathematics


Skills:


Thorough understanding of mathematics and further mathematics concepts
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Capacity to inspire and motivate students
Proficiency in utilizing educational technology and software
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
