 Job Title: Pharmacist

Location: Apo, Abuja (FCT) 

Employment Type: Full-time Summary

The Pharmacist is responsible for ensuring the safe, effective, and rational use of medicines while delivering exceptional pharmaceutical care to patients. The role involves dispensing medications, providing clinical advice, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, managing inventory, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to achieve optimal patient outcomes.


Key Responsibilities

Accurately review, prepare, and dispense prescription medications in accordance with legal and professional standards. Counsel patients on the safe use of medications, including dosage, administration, side effects, interactions, and storage. Verify prescription accuracy and resolve any medication-related issues with prescribers when necessary. Monitor patients for adverse drug reactions and provide appropriate pharmaceutical interventions. Maintain accurate patient medication records and ensure confidentiality always. Ensure compliance with pharmacy regulations, ethical standards, and organizational policies. Supervise pharmacy technicians and support staff where applicable. Manage medication inventory, including stock control, expiry monitoring, and procurement requests. Participate in medication therapy management and clinical decision-making. Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and patient safety programs. Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant pharmacy environment. Stay updated on developments in pharmaceutical practice through continuous professional development.


Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy (B.Pharm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD). Valid practicing license with the relevant Pharmacy Regulatory Authority (PCN). Minimum of 2 years' post-qualification experience in a hospital, community, or retail pharmacy (preferred). Strong knowledge of pharmacology, medication safety, and pharmaceutical regulations. Excellent communication and patient counseling skills. High level of accuracy and attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to remain composed, exercise sound judgment, and make well-reasoned decisions in high-pressure or fast-paced clinical environments. Strong problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills. Proficiency in pharmacy management systems and Microsoft Office applications. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.


Salary
