Millie’s British International school was established in September, 2018. We are situated in the prime residential area of Idi-Ishin, Jericho, which is within easy travel distance in Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria. Our very attractive school building provides a perfect learning environment for our students who are drawn from Jericho and its neighbouring areas; we are also now attracting pupils from Iyaganku, Oluyole and Bodija axis too. The school’s families reflect the diversity of the area, including economic and social. Our current enrolment is encouraging, with high enrolments expected to be maintained in the immediate future. We are a growing British curriculum nursery and primary school in Ibadan committed to excellence in teaching, learning and pupil development. The Primary Teacher will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and creating a structured, engaging and supportive learning environment that promotes both academic excellence and personal development.

Planning and delivering engaging lessons in line with the school’s curriculum and academic standards. Assessing, monitoring and supporting pupil progress through accurate marking, feedback and appropriate intervention. Creating and maintaining a well-organised, stimulating classroom environment that promotes learning and independence. Maintaining high expectations for behaviour, effort and achievement at all times. Working collaboratively with colleagues and communicating effectively with parents to support pupil success. Contributing positively to the wider life, culture and values of the school.

The Ideal Candidate

A Degree in Education, Primary Education Studies or a related discipline. A minimum of three years' post-NYSC teaching experience with primary-aged pupils, preferably within a British or international curriculum setting. Strong subject knowledge across the primary curriculum, particularly in English, Mathematics and Science. Excellent classroom management skills with the ability to establish a purposeful, respectful and engaging learning environment. Excellent written and spoken English, with the ability to communicate effectively with pupils, parents and colleagues. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and confidence using digital tools to support teaching, learning and administration. A sound understanding of assessment, pupil progress tracking and effective feedback practices. A clear understanding of safeguarding responsibilities and a commitment to pupil welfare and protection. A genuine passion for teaching, learning and holistic pupil development. TRCN certification will be considered an added advantage. Applicants must reside in Ibadan and be able to commute conveniently to Jericho.

This position is for a September 2026 start. This role is ideal for a teacher who values structure, high standards and working within a supportive school community where every child is known, nurtured and encouraged to succeed academically and personally.
