Department: Operations & Infrastructure Delivery

Reports to: COO / Head of Operations Role Summary

Ecovia Ventures is building Nigeria's first asset-light, multi-city EV charging network, deploying modular 200kVA charging nodes across Lagos, Abuja, and Port Harcourt. We are looking for a dedicated Project Manager to own the end-to-end delivery of our charging infrastructure rollout: from site selection and permitting, through procurement and installation, to commissioning and handover. This is a hands-on, high-accountability role at the centre of Ecovia's commercial engine: the person in this seat determines how fast, how reliably, and how cost-effectively we turn committed sites into live, revenue-generating charging nodes.

Key Responsibilities

Own the full lifecycle of charging node deployment, including site scoping, permitting, vendor coordination, installation, testing, and commissioning, across Lagos, Abuja, and Port Harcourt. Build and maintain the master rollout schedule, tracking every site against target timelines and flagging delays before they compound. Manage relationships with site hosts (malls, filling stations, telco towers, fleet depots) to secure access, agree commercial terms, and resolve on-site issues. Coordinate hardware and equipment procurement for 200kVA nodes, including dual GB/T + CCS2 charging guns and solar-hybrid components, in line with budget and delivery targets. Select, onboard, and manage contractors and installation partners (electrical, civil works, solar integration), ensuring work meets safety, quality, and regulatory standards. Liaise with DisCos, regulators, and relevant government agencies (e.g., NADDC) on grid connections, permits, and compliance requirements. Track and report node-level KPIs, including rollout pace, cost per node, uptime, and commissioning quality, to Ecovia's leadership team. Manage project budgets and cost control across active sites, escalating variances and proposing corrective action. Coordinate cross-functionally with Engineering, Finance, and Commercial teams to keep deployment aligned with the wider business plan and capital raising milestones. Maintain clear, up-to-date project documentation, including site files, contracts, and commissioning records, to support audits, investor reporting, and future scale-up. Identify and mitigate delivery risks (grid access delays, permitting bottlenecks, contractor performance, supply chain disruption) before they impact rollout targets.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years' project management experience, ideally in infrastructure, energy, telecoms, or construction sectors. Demonstrated experience delivering multi-site rollouts in Nigeria, with a working understanding of local permitting, contracting, and regulatory processes. PMP, PRINCE2, or other recognised project management certification is an advantage. Prior exposure to the energy, e-mobility, or EV charging sector is a strong plus, though not mandatory. Comfortable working across multiple cities and willing to travel regularly to Abuja and Port Harcourt.

Skills & Competencies

Strong organisational and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent sites without losing sight of detail. Confident stakeholder management, with the ability to negotiate with site hosts, hold contractors accountable, and communicate clearly with leadership. Working knowledge of project management tools (e.g. MS Project, Trello, Asana) and budgeting/cost-tracking practices. Sound judgement under pressure, comfortable making fast, practical decisions in a fast-moving startup environment. Clear written and verbal communication, including the ability to produce concise progress reports for leadership and investors. A genuine interest in clean energy, electric mobility, and building infrastructure that doesn't yet exist in Nigeria.

Remuneration

Open to negotiation according to experience.
