Role Description
The Quantity Surveyor is a full-time, on-site role based in Lagos, responsible for managing project costs and ensuring financial efficiency across building and MEP projects.
Day-to-day tasks include preparing and reviewing Bills of Quantities (BOQs), conducting cost estimates, monitoring project budgets, and tracking variations and claims.
The role involves cost planning at different project stages, producing accurate cost reports, and supporting tender preparation, evaluation, and contract administration.
The Quantity Surveyor will collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to maintain cost control, support value engineering, and ensure compliance with company standards and client requirements.
QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.
Professional certification or membership (e.g., NIQS or equivalent) is an added advantage.
Prior experience in building and MEP projects within Lagos or similar environments is beneficial.
Strong expertise in BOQ preparation and measurement, including quantity take-offs and pricing for building and MEP works.
Demonstrated skills in cost planning and cost management across project lifecycles, from pre-contract to post-contract stages.
Experience in cost control and cost reporting, including budget monitoring, variance analysis, and financial forecasting.
Proficiency in relevant quantity surveying and estimating software, as well as MS Excel and other productivity tools.
Knowledge of standard forms of contracts, tendering procedures, and commercial terms in construction and MEP projects.
Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams on-site.
