Job Title: School Accountant

Location: Ogba, Lagos

Employment Type: Full-time Job Summary

A reputable school is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized School Accountant to manage its financial records and support the school's day-to-day financial operations.

Job Responsibilities

Maintain accurate financial records and prepare periodic financial reports. Process payments, receipts, invoices, and other financial transactions. Reconcile bank statements and monitor cash flow. Prepare payroll and ensure timely payment of salaries where applicable. Assist with budgeting, financial planning, and expense tracking. Maintain proper accounting records and ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations. Support internal and external audits by providing required financial documentation. Manage school fees records and reconcile payments. Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned.

Ordinary National Diploma (OND), Higher National Diploma (HND), or Bachelor's Degree (B.Sc / B.Tech.) in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field. Professional qualifications such as ATS, ICAN, ANAN, or ACCA will be an added advantage. Minimum of 1–3 years' experience in accounting or bookkeeping. Previous experience working in a school or educational institution is an added advantage. Sound knowledge of accounting principles and financial management. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software. Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information. Strong organisational and time-management skills. Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
