The successful candidate must combine creative execution with sound judgement, consistent community management and measurable reporting.

Key Responsibilities
Social Media Strategy and Planning:

Develop and implement a social media plan aligned with Tajami’s brand, target merchant categories and business priorities. Manage agreed brand channels, with emphasis on platforms relevant to Nigerian online sellers, including Instagram, TikTok and Facebook. Prepare a monthly content calendar covering merchant education, product demonstrations, business tips, campaigns and approved merchant stories. Research audience needs, competitor activity and relevant trends, and recommend content ideas suited to Tajami’s product and audience.

Content Creation and Publishing:

Write clear captions and scripts, create branded graphics and produce or edit short videos, reels, stories and other platform-appropriate content. Explain Tajami’s approved capabilities through practical examples addressing merchant challenges such as missed enquiries, order follow-up and customer communication. Schedule and publish approved content consistently, maintaining accurate information, a recognisable brand voice and quality control across channels. Coordinate with product and sales colleagues to obtain accurate updates, demonstration materials and campaign information before publication. Use clear calls to action that guide interested merchants to approved enquiry, demonstration or sign-up channels.

Community Management and Lead Coordination:

Monitor comments, mentions and direct messages during agreed working hours, and respond professionally within agreed response timelines. Build constructive conversations with merchants, answer routine questions using approved information and escalate complaints or sensitive issues promptly. Capture and refer qualified enquiries to the sales team through approved processes, with sufficient context for timely follow-up. Identify suitable creators, merchant communities and partnership opportunities; obtain approval before making commitments or incurring costs. Obtain permission before publishing merchant testimonials, case studies, images or business results, and use only verified claims.

Campaigns and Performance Reporting:

Plan and execute approved campaigns supporting product education, merchant acquisition and community growth, coordinating timelines and materials with relevant colleagues. Support paid social campaigns where assigned, working within approved budgets and reporting results without committing unapproved expenditure. Track reach, engagement, audience growth, video performance, website traffic and qualified enquiries, using platform analytics and agreed tracking methods. Submit weekly reports with results, audience insights, campaign progress, issues and recommended actions, and prepare a monthly performance summary. Attend a weekly virtual review meeting for feedback, business updates and agreement on priorities. Use results to improve content and campaign decisions.

Performance Expectations

Performance will be assessed through content quality and calendar delivery, relevant audience growth, engagement, community response times, qualified enquiries and reporting accuracy. Targets will be agreed during onboarding using existing account performance, available resources and business priorities. The role requires availability during agreed working hours, daily channel monitoring and weekly reporting.

Qualifications and Requirements

Minimum of 3 years of hands-on social media management experience, preferably within e-commerce, social commerce or a business serving online merchants. A portfolio showing social accounts managed, original content and measurable outcomes, with a clear explanation of your contribution. Strong copywriting, content planning, graphic design and short-form video editing skills, using tools such as Canva, CapCut or equivalent applications. Practical knowledge of Instagram, TikTok and Facebook publishing, community management and analytics, with the ability to adapt content for each audience. Ability to interpret performance data, explain results and connect social media activity to relevant business outcomes. Good organisation, attention to detail and the ability to manage deadlines and collaborate independently in a remote team. Ability to work reliably online using a computer, smartphone and stable internet connection. Familiarity with paid social campaigns is an advantage.
