Job Title: Solar Engineer

Location: Abuja (FCT)
Industry: Solar Power / Renewable Energy

The Role

  • The Solar Engineer will be responsible for monitoring the performance of solar power plants on a daily basis and conducting preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure optimal uptime for the offtaker.
  • This role involves planning, scheduling, and executing maintenance activities to guarantee the smooth operation of all solar installations.

Key Responsibilities
As a proactive member of our technical team, you will:

  • Schedule and coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
  • Perform remote monitoring of operational plants to track performance and identify faults.
  • Respond to site call-outs and maintain a detailed register of faults, repairs, and maintenance activities.
  • Support installation processes, providing technical guidance on testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning.
  • Analyze system performance data, ensuring accurate performance tracking.
  • Support procurement and stock management, including component selection and evaluation.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations, safety standards, and OEM requirements.
  • Drive warranty claim processes for applicable repairs and maintenance.
  • Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and clients to deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Act as the operations liaison between the company and clients, ensuring timely issue resolution.
  • Provide regular reports on field operations, site performance, and other management requests.
  • Stay updated on solar technologies, innovations, and industry best practices.

Qualifications and Experience

  • BSc Degree / HND in an Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in solar engineering or operations & maintenance.
  • Proficiency with solar design software (e.g., PVsyst, Helioscope, AutoCAD, SketchUp).
  • Experience with remote monitoring systems for energy supply.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, energy storage, and grid integration.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
  • Attention to detail, persistence, and ability to work with minimal supervision.

Salary
N800,000  - N1,000,000 Monthly.
