Essential Duties


Digital Literacy Instruction:


Craft, implement, and continuously enhance vibrant digital education programs, spanning from fundamental computer usage (typing, document creation, web browsing) to advanced competencies in programming (HTML, CSS, introductory JavaScript) and graphic design (e.g., CorelDRAW, Canva).
Establish a structured yet adaptable curriculum that evolves with technological trends, ensuring students acquire crucial 21st-century digital proficiencies.
Produce educational resources, guides, and workshops catering to diverse learning approaches and abilities, particularly for novice technology learners.


Digital Skills Laboratory Administration:


Launch, oversee, and persistently refine the CAIN Digital Skills Lab to foster a cutting-edge, motivational learning environment.
Upkeep the laboratory's infrastructure, guaranteeing all technological assets—including computers, network equipment, projectors, and displays—are fully functional, protected, and current.
Enact technology policies that ensure safety, responsibility, and longevity of the laboratory's resources.


Technical Assistance & Resolutions:


Deliver pragmatic technology solutions that boost CAIN Africa's administrative operations and digital education delivery.
Supervise the routine maintenance and content updates of CAIN Africa's website, ensuring it remains user-friendly, visually appealing, and pertinent.
Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot essential technology infrastructure, including internet connectivity and digital platforms.


Learner Engagement & Guidance:


Conduct engaging, relatable classes that ignite curiosity and empower students, especially children, youth, and beginners, to build confidence in technology.
Provide personalized mentorship to students, nurturing their growth from foundational skills to real-world tech readiness.
Cultivate a dynamic learning community that emphasizes innovation, creativity, teamwork, and resilience.


Program Development & Innovation:


Collaborate with the education team to conceptualize, test, and expand innovative, high-impact digital skills programs.
Coordinate coding challenges, student projects, hackathons, and tech exhibitions to showcase student achievements and build practical portfolios.
Incorporate global tech trends and emerging technologies into program design to keep students globally competitive.


Research, Fundraising & Partnership Cultivation:


Discover and investigate global and local opportunities (grants, competitions, partnerships) to enhance program offerings and student exposure.
Spearhead fundraising efforts specifically for digital skills initiatives, securing funds, sponsorships, and in-kind donations to broaden the scope and reach of CAIN's tech programs.
Establish relationships with tech companies, foundations, and educational institutions to secure resources, mentorship opportunities, and exposure for students.


Program Expansion & Strategic Growth:


Formulate and execute strategic plans to accelerate the growth and impact of CAIN's digital skills programs across multiple communities.
Track, assess, and report on program outcomes, utilizing data to inform improvements and demonstrate impact to stakeholders and funders.
Advocate for CAIN Africa's tech programs at conferences, community events, and online platforms to enhance visibility, attract support, and build a global network.


Qualifications


Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Digital Education, or a related discipline.
2–5 years of demonstrated experience teaching digital skills, particularly to adolescents and young adults.
Robust proficiency in website development, including WordPress management, HTML, CSS, and basic JavaScript.
Adept in graphic design tools such as Canva, CorelDRAW, or the Adobe Creative Suite.
Proven experience managing digital skills labs, tech equipment, and maintaining digital infrastructure.
Demonstrated ability to design, update, and deliver engaging digital skills curricula suited to diverse learning needs.
Effective mentoring, communication, and classroom management skills, with a passion for student success.
Proven experience in fundraising, grant writing, or partnership development specifically for educational or tech-based programs.
Strong research abilities to identify and secure funding, scholarships, competitions, and partnership opportunities that enhance student outcomes and program growth.
Excellent problem-solving skills, creativity, and a proactive, solutions-driven approach to challenges.
Proficient with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive, Classroom) and other digital collaboration tools.
Mandatory availability to work every Saturday, as core program activities and training are scheduled on weekends.
