 Job Title: Accountant

Location: Lagos Description

To support our continued growth, we are looking for an experienced, analytical, and highly organised Accountant to join our Lagos Head Office. This is an exciting opportunity for a finance professional who is passionate about accuracy, compliance, financial planning, and contributing to the success of a dynamic and purpose-driven organisation.

Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports. Manage the company's accounts payable and receivable processes. Reconcile bank accounts and ensure timely resolution of discrepancies. Prepare and monitor budgets, forecasts, and cash flow reports. Ensure timely statutory remittances, including taxes, pensions, and other regulatory obligations. Maintain accurate financial records in compliance with applicable accounting standards and company policies. Support external audits and liaise with auditors, banks, and regulatory agencies. Monitor financial performance and provide insightful recommendations to improve efficiency and profitability. Oversee expense management and ensure proper financial controls are maintained. Utilise accounting software to maintain accurate financial records and generate reports. Collaborate with other departments to support sound financial decision-making and business growth.

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. 4–6 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a fast-paced corporate or service-oriented environment. Professional certification such as ICAN, ACCA, ACA, or equivalent is required. Strong knowledge of financial reporting, taxation, budgeting, and internal controls. Good understanding of Nigerian tax regulations and statutory compliance requirements. Proficiency in accounting software (such as Sage, QuickBooks, Zoho Books, or similar ERP systems). Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills. High level of integrity, attention to detail, and ability to maintain confidentiality. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
