Job Description
Develop and implement tomato production plans and schedules.
Monitor crop growth and recommend appropriate agronomic interventions.
Ensure proper land preparation, nursery management, transplanting, and harvesting activities.
Conduct soil sampling and analyze soil fertility requirements.
Develop fertilizer application programs based on soil and crop needs.
Plan and supervise irrigation schedules to ensure optimal crop performance.
Monitor soil moisture levels and water use efficiency.
Train, supervise, and guide farm workers on agronomic best practices.
Monitor field activities and ensure tasks are completed according to schedule.
Ensure compliance with farm operating procedures and safety standards.
Maintain accurate records of planting, fertilization, irrigation, pest control, and harvest activities.
Analyze production data and prepare regular agronomic reports.
Implement innovations that improve operational efficiency and sustainability.
RequirementsBachelor's Degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Agriculture, Soil Science, Horticulture, or a related field.
3 – 5 years' experience in large commercial vegetable farming.
Experience with greenhouse and open-field tomato production is an added advantage.
Knowledge of Good Agricultural Practices (GAP).
