Data Analyst

Job Description:


Nigerian British University (NBU) is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Data Analyst to support our Data Management Specialist Team. The ideal candidate will assist in collecting, cleaning, analyzing, and interpreting data to drive informed decision-making across academic and administrative units.


Key Responsibilities:


Support the Data Management team in executing data-related tasks and projects.
Clean, structure, and analyze large datasets to uncover trends and insights.
Create reports, dashboards, and visualizations to support academic and operational goals.
Identify data patterns, anomalies, and opportunities for process improvement.
Collaborate with departments to understand their data needs and deliver actionable outputs.
Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and confidentiality at all times.


Requirements:


Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, advanced formulas, charts).
Working knowledge of SQL for querying databases.
Proficiency in either R or Python for data analysis and automation.
Excellent pattern recognition skills and a strong sense of intuition in working with data.
Attention to detail, analytical thinking, and a problem-solving mindset.
Ability to communicate findings clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
MUST BE WILLING TO RELOCATE TO SCHOOL LOCATION


Preferred Qualifications:


Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
Experience in higher education or institutional research is an added advantage.
