Slum and Rural Health Initiative is a nonprofit organization that started operations in 2017 and is officially registered in Nigeria, Ethiopia, and the Gambia It improves access to healthcare information and services in Africa, especially in vulnerable and underserved communities using the tools of advocacy, research, and technology. We are a ‘multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, social scientists information technology experts, researchers, graphic designers, and social entrepreneurs who are passionate about changing the sad narrative of healthcare information and service delivery in Nigeria, Ethiopia, and other parts of Africa.

Job Title: Health Economist
Location: Ibadan, Oyo
Employment Type: Full-Time
Role Overview
Provide economic analysis and evidence to inform health programming, resource allocation, and policy recommendations for SRHIN's health interventions in slum and rural communities.
Key ResponsibilitiesConduct cost-effectiveness and cost-benefit analyses of SRHIN's health programmes
Analyse health financing mechanisms and their implications for programme sustainability
Develop economic models to support grant proposals and donor reporting
Provide technical input on resource allocation and budgeting for health interventions
Collaborate with the policy and research teams to translate economic findings into actionable recommendations
Prepare technical reports, briefs, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Master's Degree or higher in Health Economics, Economics, Public Health, or a related field
Minimum of 3 years' experience in health economics, health financing, or related analysis
Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with proficiency in relevant statistical/economic software
Familiarity with the Nigerian health system and donor-funded health programmes is an advantage
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
