The QA/QC Engineer is responsible for establishing, monitoring, and enforcing quality assurance and quality control procedures across site construction activities. The role ensures that all materials, workmanship, structural operations, and sub-contractor activities strictly comply with technical specifications, engineering drawings, statutory regulations, and corporate quality management systems (ISO standards).
Perform daily on-site quality checks and inspections across civil, structural, and finishing works to ensure compliance with approved drawings and specifications. Coordinate and witness site quality control tests, including soil compaction, concrete slump and cube crushing, reinforcement bar testing, asphalt density, and non-destructive testing (NDT). Prepare and submit Requests for Inspection (RFIs) to clients, structural engineers, or supervising consultants in a timely manner.
Implement and manage the Project Quality Plan (PQP), Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and Method Statements for all key construction processes. Maintain complete and audited QA/QC documentation on-site, including material test certificates, batching plant reports, calibration records, and third-party lab results. Track non-conformances by issuing and managing Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), ensuring prompt root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
Inspect incoming raw materials, structural steel, aggregates, rebar, ready-mix concrete, and MEP/finishing items delivered to the site against approved material submittals and technical data sheets. Reject off-spec or damaged materials, log defects, and coordinate replacements with procurement and store managers. Inspect batching plants, fabrication workshops, and third-party testing laboratories to ensure quality standards at the source.
Liaise with client representatives, supervising consultants, and municipal inspectors during joint site walk-throughs and quality audits. Monitor subcontractor work quality, ensuring subcontractors strictly follow approved method statements and quality standard operating procedures (SOPs). Organize tool-box talks and quality awareness sessions for site supervisors and field crews to minimize rework and material wastage.
