Job Title: Volunteer Social Media Video & Publishing Officer

Reporting to: Social Media Team Leader The Role
We are looking for a reliable and digitally confident Volunteer Social Media Video & Publishing Officer based in Nigeria to join our social media team and support the delivery and publication of IIR’s digital content. As our Volunteer Social Media Video & Publishing Officer, you will help turn the team’s approved content into polished and published social media posts, with a particular focus on video and short-form content. You will work collaboratively with the Social Media Content Strategist, Scriptwriter and Proofreader, under the direction of the Social Media Team Leader. Your role will be particularly important at the final stage of the content process, preparing and publishing approved content across IIR’s platforms.
Prepare and upload video content across IIR’s social media platforms. Format videos appropriately for different platforms. Add approved captions, subtitles, titles and accompanying copy where required. Schedule and publish approved social media content. Support the creation and preparation of Reels, Shorts and other short-form content. Organise digital content and maintain an effective publishing schedule. Carry out basic video editing where required. Ensure published content follows IIR’s branding and communications guidelines. Coordinate with the Proofreader to ensure final copy has been reviewed before publication. Work collaboratively with the Content Strategist and Scriptwriter to prepare planned content for publication. Support the Social Media Team Leader in maintaining a consistent publishing schedule.
Who We’re Looking For
You should be comfortable working with social media and digital content and have good attention to detail.
Familiarity with Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, X or similar platforms. Basic video editing and content-formatting skills. Experience with tools such as Canva, CapCut or similar platforms. Good organisation and attention to detail. Ability to follow a content schedule and meet deadlines. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Willingness to learn and respond to feedback. An interest in using digital media for positive social impact. Graduates, early-career professionals with a minimum of one year’s relevant experience, and self-taught content creators are encouraged to apply.
