The Waiter/Waitress is responsible for providing excellent food and beverage service to hotel guests by taking orders, serving meals and drinks, attending to guest requests, and ensuring a clean, comfortable, and welcoming dining environment. The role requires professionalism, courtesy, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to guest satisfaction.

Welcome guests warmly and escort them to their tables when necessary. Present menus, explain available food and beverage options, and make recommendations where appropriate. Take accurate food and beverage orders and communicate them promptly to the kitchen and bar. Serve food and beverages according to the hotel's service standards. Ensure that guests receive the correct orders within a reasonable timeframe. Check on guests during their meals to ensure satisfaction and attend to additional requests. Set up tables, arrange cutlery, glassware, napkins, and other service items before guests arrive. Clear tables promptly and reset them for the next guests. Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the restaurant, bar, banquet areas, and other assigned service locations. Process guest bills and payments accurately when assigned and authorized to do so. Handle guest complaints professionally and escalate unresolved issues to the supervisor. Communicate effectively with the kitchen, bar, and other relevant departments to ensure smooth service delivery. Adhere to food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards at all times. Ensure that service equipment, utensils, and other restaurant items are properly handled and stored. Participate in departmental briefings, training sessions, and meetings as required. Follow the hotel's grooming, personal hygiene, uniform, and attendance policies. Report damaged equipment, shortages, guest concerns, and operational issues to the supervisor. Perform any other reasonable duties assigned by the supervisor or management.

Health, Safety, and Hygiene:

Comply with all food safety, sanitation, and personal hygiene requirements. Handle food, beverages, and service equipment safely. Report spills, breakages, hazards, and unsafe conditions promptly. Follow the hotel's health, safety, and emergency procedures. Maintain a clean and organized work area throughout each shift.

Treat guests, colleagues, and supervisors with courtesy and respect. Avoid arguments, rude behaviour, and unprofessional conduct. Protect guest privacy and confidential hotel information. Adhere to the hotel's policies, procedures, and Code of Conduct. Demonstrate accountability and take responsibility for assigned duties.

Minimum of SSCE or its equivalent. Previous experience in food and beverage service is an advantage. Hospitality training or a relevant qualification is desirable. Knowledge of restaurant service procedures and basic food and beverage operations is an added advantage.
